Where Is The Right Hand?

It's amazing how this society is made up of seemingly connected organizations who have no clue what their sister or brother agencies are doing. What's the old saying? 'The left hand has no idea of what the right hand is up to'. (LOL)

For example: if you have a problem with your Driver's License or your Car Registration, try going to the the Driver's License office to find out information regarding your registration... or try going to the DMV to inquire about issues with your driver's license. You would think these closely related agencies would know the Rules and Regulations of their counterparts. Even if it wasn't part of their training or on-going education, one would think employees would take it upon themselves to be informed, especially when they have to be rude or stupid when questioned about these matters dozens of times per day.

My son just turned 15 a couple of weeks ago, making him eligible for his Learner's Permit. Being that he's on Probation I wanted to dangle that priviledge over his head as incentive to straighten up and 'fly right'. I called his Probation Officer to ask if there was going to be any problems with him getting his Permit. He assured me it would have no effect.

As it turned out, I received a Notice in the mail telling me my son's Driving Priviledges had been Suspended for 6 months from April 3rd, the Date of his Court appearance. What a joke. The kid doesn't even have any kind of license, nor was he even eligible for one on April 3rd. Do you know how pissed I would have been had I taken off work and gone with my son to get his Permit? We would have probably had to wait in line for an extended time period. Amazing isn't it? I had an instinct of some potential complications but my boy's PO assured me with confidence that there was not going to be a problem.

As a Salesman I KNOW that it's better to tell someone that you don't know rather than give them misinformation. If it's my job to know, I would tell that person that I will find the answer and let them know. I wouldn't try to B.S. my way through. Giving misinformation not only is foolish and rude, but it identifies you as an apathetic incompetant. How many hundreds of thousands of employees of Government agencies am I referring to here???? Scary isn't it?
