C.A.P.S. - Citizens Against a Police State
C.A.P.S.
Citizens Against a Police State
When I was a kid, Police Officers were “Peace Officers”. Their success was measured by how effectively they were able to Maintain the Peace, and Restore the Peace if necessary. Now Police Officers are LEOs – “Law Enforcement Officers”. Their success is measured by how many people they can Arrest and Charge with Crimes.
Go down to any Courthouse in any major city in the U.S. and see if you can even find a seat in the Courtroom. Today the Justice System has become an assembly line. Thousands of people are literally swept “into the system” on a daily basis, often times for minor, even trivial, violations of the Law. Go along, play their game, and they “go easy” on you. Try to fight – try to defend your innocence, and they “throw the book” at you.
This organization and this website are designed to bring about peaceful change in that system. We are not militants out to overthrow the government nor do we advocate violent protest. Our aim is to work within the system in order to change the system. The goal is to make the job of a Police Officer truly to “Protect and Serve”.
